Amanda Farrell: Having an education is an important part of every society. If one desires to become something in life, he or she must have an education. However, how are people expected to progress through education if it is not readily available to them? Education is a human right because without it, people would be hindered from taking advantage of all opportunities available to them. It is also necessary to function as good as possible in society.

The issue however with education is that classrooms are often crowded and teachers as well as supplies are often unavailable. The issue of education is central in Third World countries where there are often few educated people. If more people were educated, life would probably be better. To help solve the issue, many people are stepping in to help.
Some like People's Movement for Human Rights Education which advocates for this right and states what should be done to achieve it.
Well known organisations like [[http:// http://www.unesco.org/en/human-rights-education/|UNESCO]] also advocate for this and play an active role by building free schools for children and adults in third world countries. Others like Right To Education look at the legal issues challenging educational rights. At the same time, they also play an active role in solving the issue. Amnesty USA is another that seeks to volunteers to advocate for education and its importance. Other sites like IREHR discuss a variety of human rights that are directly related to education.
Though education is for all, UNICEF focused primarily on primary and secondary education for children as they are the future. In the video below(above?) UNICEF campaigns for children's education through a simple cartoon. I think their method of increasing awareness is good. The only way we can really go about helping everyone have access to education is by making others aware of the problem. In America, education is available to almost anyone and we often forget that it is not the same way in other places. If we start by making people aware of this, then maybe we could spark interest leading to action.

In addition, many that do attend schools are still deprived of a sufficient quality education. Many of these results are caused by short of money, supplies, teachers, etc. Education is an important aspect of everyone's growth that every child should be given properly because without education, more issues can arise such as poverty.

Education is a very important component of survival. Without education, one would not be able to find a job and therefore they would not be able to find a good job. School teaches us basic information such as learning how to read, write, arithmetic, science, and so on. However, in developing countries many communities are not capable of building schools due to lack of money. Although, even though there are some schools which are very poorly built, they lack school supplies and the basic supplies that they need to write down information and absorb the facts.
Ian Burwasser: Education is intertwined with all of the other problems in the world. Poverty could be cured if people were taught how to work their land, or how to earn a living and support their families. Learning about other cultures could lead to respect for others which could bring more peaceful times worldwide. Educating people about how to prevent disease could end the epidemics of AIDS and malaria throughout the world. Understanding the way we are destroying the planet, and the implications it has for the future of the Earth and its inhabitants could make people seek more education abut how to prevent global warming. However, we need to find a way to bring education to the poorest people on our planet. they need to be provided with computers so that they can get education via the intnernet, and catch up with the rest of the world. This will give them a chance to compete with the richer nations and be part of a truly global world.
A basic human right is supposed to give someone, even on the lowest level and situation, some dignity and humanity. Education is a human right because they cannot be taken advantage by an oppressive dictator when they know about their rights and what is possible in the world. They can learn about morals and make their own decisions for their own well being. Education provides people with stepping stones for a better life. It can reduce poverty since more opportunities would be open to the people. For example, women could actually work if they had an education since they know that in other countries, women have full rights. Furthermore, education can teach people how to manage the money better, find better farming techniques, and get people more jobs. The developing countries would have a higher literacy rate and would be on its way to be a developed country.

[[http://www.laptop.org |One Laptop Per Child]] also helps in educating children, but this movement is intersting because of its use of technology. One Laptop Per Child sends laptops to children in developing nations in the hope to create a global community. Children can connect with people around the world and learn from other children in different countries.
